Baby's First Bible by Melody Carlson

This is an excellent first Bible story book for little ones. Perfect for reading to babies, but stays a favorite through toddlerhood and preschool years.
Most of the major stories & events of the Bible are covered, with one story on each set of pages. There is a picture on the lefthand page, and a lyrical story on the righthand page. The story is condensed down to about four lines that rhyme. The author, in my opinion, did an amazing job of condensing each story down to just four rhyming lines--yet each one gets the main idea across with a powerful punch.
Each story is a little gem, many stories & events are covered. It was a pleasure to read to our son as a baby, and as he's grown older, he repeatedly requests it to be read to him before naps or bedtime. He listens attentively and really looks at each picture--asking questions about what he sees, and pointing out the things he's learned about them. I think this makes a perfect baby gift!
