The songs in this book are arranged primarily for piano, and provide not only melody and harmony, but attempt to give an indication of the "feel" of the songs. The music will be more than adequate if played strictly as written, but should be considered as a base for improvisation too.

Pianists will note that in order to position the words of the song between the staves, chords or groups of notes played by the right hand are sometimes split. In these instances, the notes appearing in the bass clef with the stems pointing upwards are to be played by the right hand together with any notes in the treble clef. The notes to be played by the left hand appear in the bass clef only and have stems pointing down.

In songs containing a separate ladies' part, confusion is avoided by the part being written an octave higher than actually sung.

Full guitar chording has been indicated above the music. Where a chord such as appears, the G is played by rhythm or acoustic guitar, with the C being the bass guitarist's note. As an additional aid, a comprehensive chord chart can be found at the rear of this book.

Arrangements by Barry Clewett, Bruce McGrail, Ena Thompson, Rod Wallace, and Mark Hayes.
